Chhath Puja: A Relic that Survived
A work in progress illustrative book on how, in this evolving environment and according to personal convenience, because of the fading faith, the originality of the Chhath puja is continuing to diminish. It is an image heavy book which will be talking about the scientific and emotional connect of Chhath puja as well as how it has been affected by this changing time which will be shown through illustrations and text.
PROBLEM AREA: Chhath being an oral tradition it's preservation depends on the powers of memory of successive generations of human beings and it is difficult for the upcoming generations to keep hold of the roots in this changing time. In this evolving environment and according to personal convenience, the faithfulness and originality of the Chhath puja are continuing to fade. More and more people have started to practice Chhath puja all over the world but failing to retain the same sincerity in the process might defeat the scientific aspect of the puja. The mission might not be to save the originality of the practice but to acknowledge and be aware of what is happening.
AIM: Address the Vedic and scientific importance of Chhath puja and how the originality of Chhath is being affected by the evolving environment.
